Know the moment your checkout breaks.
Every 30 or 60 minutes a real browser walks your store the way a shopper does: product page, add to cart, cart, checkout page. It stops before payment. When a step fails twice in a row, you get an email, a Slack message or a text with the step, the error and a screenshot.
What one check looks at
- Product pageLoads with a 2xx status and an add-to-cart button.
- Add to cartThe product can be added; sold-out variants and rejected adds are reported.
- CartThe cart holds the item: an empty cart after adding is a failure.
- Checkout pageLoads without errors. The check stops here, before any payment.
Plus, every check: HTTP status and time to first byte of your store URL, days left on the SSL certificate, and a theme fingerprint so a changed theme is noticed.
Checked on a schedule
Every 60 minutes on Starter, every 30 on Growth and Agency. A 48-block timeline per store shows the last day or two at a glance; the dashboard keeps 30-day pass rates and every incident with its screenshot.
Alerted twice, not fifty times
An incident opens after two consecutive failures of the same step and closes when a check passes again. You get one message when it opens, one when it closes with the duration, and a daily digest if you want one.
For agents too
The same check as one POST, described by an OpenAPI 3.1 document, plus an MCP server with two tools: run a check, read the last 48 results. Past a plan's allowance, on-demand checks cost $0.25 each.

Questions people ask first
- What exactly does a check do?
- A real browser (Chromium) opens one of your product pages, adds the product to the cart, opens the cart and opens the checkout page. Then it stops. Nothing is typed into the checkout, no payment is made and no order is created. The cart it used lives only in that browser session and is gone when the check ends.
- Which platforms work?
- Shopify and WooCommerce stores are detected from your home page and walked without any setup. Other platforms need a recorded buy path (the selectors for your add-to-cart button, cart line and checkout page); ask support and we set it up with you.
- When do I get an alert?
- When the same step fails on two consecutive checks. One failed check is noted on the timeline but does not page you, because a slow CDN or a deploy in progress is not an outage. You get a second message when the path works again, with how long it was broken.
- What about bot protection at checkout?
- Shopify, and Cloudflare in front of many stores, sometimes answer a browser’s checkout request with a challenge page instead of the checkout form. CheckoutBeat never tries to get around that. When it happens, the check stops at the cart after confirming the product is in it, says so on the result, and the checkout page is marked as not verified. The product page, add to cart and cart are still checked every time.
- Does a passing check mean every customer can buy?
- No. It means that buy path worked at that moment from our location with our browser. It cannot see every device, country, payment method or discount code. It is a smoke test that runs all day so you hear about the common breakages quickly.
- Will the checks show up in my analytics or inventory?
- Each check identifies itself with the user agent CheckoutBeatBot/1.0 so you can filter it out. It adds one item to a fresh cart and never completes the order; Shopify and WooCommerce do not reserve inventory for an unfinished cart.
